As you’ll note, most of these stories appeared in themed anthologies, and in most – though not all – cases were written specifically for those particular anthologies. Note that both of the magazines on the list have long since ceased publication, and while I’ve supplied links for the anthologies, most or all of those are also long out of print and may or may not be easily obtainable from used-book dealers.

Fan Fiction
are all unusual by (modern) fanfictional standards. Two are nominally what the fan community calls “Real Person Fiction” or RPF – but in both cases, the works in question were solicited either by or for the Real Person in question, and neither goes anywhere near the most common excuse for “traditional” RPF. As for “The Adventure of the Unearthly Cat” – that one dates from far enough in the past to have been written (a) for a printed fanzine, and (b) at a time when most fan writers were using their real names as bylines.
